The Boracay Coffee Table Book entitled “Boracay: A Paradise Reborn” produced and published by the Environmental Management Bureau 6 – Environmental Education and Information Unit was launched together with the National Government Agencies who are part of the rehabilitation process of the Island since 2018 at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Iloilo City on June 23, 2022.
The book was unveiled by EMB 6 Regional Director, Atty. Ramar Niel V. Pascua, the OIC District Engineer-Aklan of DPWH 6, Engr. Gener J. Abergas, Assistant Regional Director for Operations of DSWD 6, Delia V. Bagolcol, and Supervising TOO of DOT 6, Phoebe Zelie Areño.
The distribution was made to different leaders of government agencies as they are at the forefront of operations. A media forum followed afterwards wherein questions being thrown are centered on the topics of the Island rehabilitation, maintenance, sustainable actions, and next steps coming into the next administration.
One of the objectives of the Boracay Coffee Table Book launching is to spread awareness on the rehabilitation process of Boracay for the past 4 years and to make the accomplishments of the various National Government Agencies available for viewing. Also, this would serve as a manifest of the milestones and developments the department has achieved since 2018.
Aside from the physical publication, the office also plans to post the contents of the book on its social media page on Facebook to further the dissemination on a wider reach.
